Like Cwm Coed y Cerrig, the joy of waking at springtime in the midst of the full dawn chorus of spring.

At lunchtime, a siesta along the banks of the marsh at Aber Bach; awakening to see two swallows skim so low and fast, then dip just before me to sip on the wing from the surface of the placid brook – so delicate, the ripples so soft and small, yet their flight so fast.

A badger ambling across the woodland path from a mass of fragrant ramsons, under the full midday sun.

Reading and sleeping in a glade of bluebells and campion, waiting for the conditions to improve photographically. They never did, but the peace of lazing about that colourful and fragrant glade was the quintessence of childhood and sunny harmony.

Walking back through the woods in the monochrome of near dark, the world barely visible in shades of dim grey, but scents and sounds so heightened in the darkness. Wild garlic and bluebells pervading the senses through their fragrant airs, while loud snuffles suggested the presence of badgers going about their business, and a tawny owl called out his waking.
