About
A scattering of written fragments serve as useful headings for some thoughts about my approach to photography. As with the Portfolio, this section is an ongoing development, and further relevant thoughts will be added here as and when they may occur. The sources can be found here.

Subtle dimension
Photography is a subtle dimension. It holds space in one plane. It captures time. Where the wind blows, where water flows, a long exposure places layers of time one over the other to show perhaps two minutes in a single instant, while a very short exposure might freeze a fraction of a second too fast for the eye to perceive – the splash of water from a rock, suspended in mid air. Photography creates its own dimension.
